John McGuigan has been appointed Managing Director Consumer Sales & Service at Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG in October 2011. In this position he is responsible for all consumer sales-channels including around 1000 O2 Shops across Germany and the online portal www.o2.de, all indirect channels as well as customer service.
McGuigan works since 2007 in the Telefónica group and most recently held the position of CEO at Telefónica Slovakia, where he steered the successful expansion of the business. Prior to this, he was General Manager for Consumer at Telefónica UK and responsible for customer services. His career also includes management positions as CEO at NHS24, a telephone triage service for Scotland, and Director for Frontline Consultants.
