O2 releases mobile Internet from long terms
MUNICH/Germany. Telefónica O2 Germany is doing away with long terms: For Internet access from laptops, O2 is reducing the mobile Internet flat rate from 24 to six months and for mobile phone access from three months to only one month. Other parts of the portfolio become more attractive too: The unrestricted all-inclusive volume increases for the mobile phone surf flat rate by 50 per cent to 300 MB. A daily cost-airbag within the standard invoicing completes the offer. This offer begins on 27th October 2010.
Customers with a laptop can then use the O2 mobile high-speed network with unrestricted all-inclusive volume for a monthly fee of only 25 Euros. From 5 GB onwards the speed is reduced. If you like to test mobile Internet first, you can terminate this offer at any time during the first month. Via O2 My Handy, the O2 surf stick can be included in the package by making a one-time payment of 30 Euros. After the six-month contract term, the mobile O2 Internet flat rate is always automatically renewed for an additional month. The notice period is 30 days. Even after terminating the contact, the customer can continue using the mobile Internet. For both the mobile phone as well as the laptop, the standard rate of 9 cents per minute then applies. Starting on 9th November, O2 will be capping this by introducing a daily max rate of 3.50 Euros. In this way, the customer retains Internet access for the remainder of the day even upon reaching the 3.50 Euros threshold. This offer is aimed especially at customers that only require occasional Internet access from their laptop or mobile phone. For customers who choose an Internet-Pack for surfing on the mobile phone, the running time of the Pack is reduced from three months to just one month. Within the Handy-Surf-Flatrate the customer will now get 50 percent more inclusive volume: The speed will only be reduced over 300 MB to 64 Kbit/s. O2 customers, who regularly surf on their smartphone, can still book the 'Internet-Pack-M plus' with 1 GB unthrottled inclusive volume for 15 Euros per month - of course, with a running time of only one month.
