A lot of power, small format:
O2 offers HP Veer with webOS
MUNICH/Germany. Starting at the end of June, Telefónica Germany will be selling the brand new HP Veer with the webOS operating system. The smartphone is the smallest webOS phone thus far - the size of a credit card. It still however offers all of the functions and high-quality features provided by larger smartphones. The HP Veer is especially easy and comfortable to use thanks to the QWERTZ pull-out keypad and the high-quality glass touchscreen. The little powerhouse can be purchased for a down payment of 19 Euros and 24 monthly payments of 15 Euros each. The overall price is 379 Euros, including the HP Touchstone charging station. O2 will be offering the HP Veer without a SIM lock together with O2 My Handy.
At just 84 x 54.5 x 15 mm (L x W x D) and weighing a mere 103 grams, the smartphone fits easily in any pocket without being noticeable. In spite of that, the user does not have to do without any of the high-quality features, including an 800 MHz processor and 8 GB of internal memory. A 920 mAh battery provides up to five hours of calling time. Photos and videos are shown on a 2.6-inch touch-sensitive multi-touch display with a resolution of 320 x 400 pixels. And anyone wishing to take snapshots will benefit from the five-megapixel camera with a video resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Included in O2's package is the HP Touchstone, which makes it very easy to charge the HP Veer by simply placing it on the charging stone - no extra cables or sockets are required. In addition to the high-quality hardware features, the HP Veer scores points with its webOS operating system, which allows true multitasking: several applications can be managed at the same time without having to close applications. What's more, the "just type" function offers quick and easy operation. With this, the user can launch all HP Veer functions, including searching the Web, sending messages, updating the status and much more, by simply starting to type. If the user is signed in to his or her Facebook, Google, Microsoft Exchange, LinkedIn or Yahoo! accounts, the latest information will be synchronised automatically and integrated on the HP Veer thanks to HP Synergy. That way, the user can keep in touch with contacts, update their status and upload photos in real time, at all times. In addition to the already integrated features, the webOS App Store has numerous other applications that users can download to customise the HP Veer.
