Major mobile communications customer
Telefónica Multinational Solutions wins international car company as major mobile communications customer
MUNICH. Telefónica Multinational Solutions welcomes a new corporate customer as Daimler AG changes its mobile communications provider in Germany. The employees of the internationally renowned carmaker will soon be using the mobile telecommunications network of O2 for making calls and using the Internet. Telefónica therefore wins one of its largest mobile communications customers in the business segment in Germany.
Telefónica Germany is part of Spain's Telefónica S.A., one of the largest global telecommunications groups with 285,000 employees and more than 290 million customers around the world. With nearly 24 million customer accesses and an annual turnover of about five billion Euros, Telefónica Germany is one of the biggest three integrated telecommunications providers in Germany. The modern mobile communication network featuring global roaming, innovative products and great customer service were decisive aspects for Daimler when choosing its new provider.
"This latest customer win once again confirms that Telefónica has one of the best infrastructures and is capable of fulfilling the highest demands of renowned corporate customers," said Johannes Pruchnow, Managing Director Business at Telefónica Germany. "Our integrated services from a single source provide the ideal solution for multinational groups." The move to the new mobile communications provider will run pretty much automatically for the users, as the switch to the O2 network will take place over night. They will simply switch off their mobile phones in the evening and insert the new SIM cards from Telefónica the following morning. All previous mobile numbers will remain the same for continued use in the O2 network. Furthermore the migration to the O2 network is being supported by a special rollout service. Telefónica account managers will be on hand to give personal assistance at numerous corporate customer sites, for example, in switching SIM cards and transferring telephone books, SMS messages and other information from the old cards.
