O2 Data M2M Flat: First flat rate for communication between machines

MUNICH. Telefónica Germany is currently expanding its product range for machine-to-machine (M2M) data communication: Starting 15th February all business clients have the option of opting for the new tariff O2 Data M2M Flat, the first M2M flat rate for national data communications. This offer is a logical supplement to the Telefónica Germany strategy which aims to provide cost transparency for data communications to clients in all business fields.
The most significant benefit of this flat rate is the absolute cost control over M2M communication it offers compared to other tariffs: For just 4.50 Euros net per month, clients can enjoy a flat rate for national data communication with a maximum speed of up to 50 MB. This product targets all business clients that are seeking to optimise their business processes via automated data exchange between end devices such as machines, automats, vehicles or containers by means of cost security. It makes no difference whether the data is exchanged directly between machines or with a central control point.
"By the year 2020, around 50 billion devices will be connected to each other across the world," says Johannes Pruchnow, Managing Director Business at Telefónica Germany. "M2M will make lots of work processes much more efficient. The health industry, the logistics and transportation sectors and the monitoring of filling and meters are just a few examples of this kind of data communication. Our new flat rate aims to further boost the mobile revolution in this field." O2 Data M2M Flat is available with a minimum contract term of 24 months and a one-off connection fee of 21.50 Euros. The tariff can be booked with or without a voice function. See here for more information: http://www.o2online.de/business/mittelstand/mobil/m2m/
