mpass at Plus.de and L'TUR: Pay online with your mobile phone
MUNICH. Bargain hunters and travel enthusiasts can now use mpass for secure and easy shopping at Plus.de and L'TUR. Thus, two more key online providers have opted for the mobile payment service of O2, Vodafone and Telekom. The three network operators plan to further expand their joint mobile payment service in the future.
With its range of approximately 125,000 items, the Tengelmann subsidiary Plus.de is considered one of Germany's most heavily frequented online shops. Thanks to the addition of the mpass payment method at plus.de and ltur.de, mobile phone customers in Germany have easy shopping access to a wide product spectrum. To benefit from this offer, all they need is a mobile phone and a bank account in Germany. "With mpass, we address the needs of the digital society. Today, one in every two German mobile phone users views payment with the mobile phone as a viable option," says Michiel van Eldik, Managing Director Wholesale & Partner Management at Telefónica Germany. "In Plus.de and L'TUR, we have gained new strong partners. Other renowned shops will follow in the course of the year."
Every year, about one million customers make bookings with the last-minute market leader L'TUR. "We have decided in favour of mpass because it enables our customers to pay conveniently even a few hours before their departure," says L'TUR CEO Markus Orth. "This concept suits our last-minute tours perfectly." Besides the online giants Plus.de and L'TUR, other businesses such as mymuesli and Kinopolis have already adopted the mobile payment method mpass. Once registered for the mpass service, customers can handle their online shopping via the mobile phone or the stationary Internet at home.
