"Sky is the limit": Kool Savas and Xavier Naidoo with the young people from Think Big on stage
MUNICH. Ten young people involved in Think Big rocked Mannheim's SAP Arena yesterday at the benefit concert "Xavier Naidoo and Bülent Ceylan - Together for our children". They joined Kool Savas and Xavier Naidoo to perform the song "Sky is the limit", which Kool Savas wrote especially for Think Big. Right from the launch back in 2010, the king of German rap has been an ambassador for Think Big, a youth programme run by the Fundación Telefónica and the German Children and Youth Foundation in collaboration with O2.
The performance was a way for the young people to celebrate the success of 2012: a year in which the 1,000th Think Big project got underway. More than 25,000 young people have already been involved with Think Big and put their ideas into practice on how to change something about their environment. "I'm always impressed by what young people can achieve. That's why Xavier Naidoo and I got them to join us to perform the Think Big song 'Sky is the limit'," says Kool Savas. "We wanted to show how capable young people are and how they can give others the courage to believe in themselves and in their ideas." Under the motto "Open mic for young ideas", the young people from Think Big were busy not only on stage. They were also backstage revealing their talents. In a series of mini-apprenticeships they were able to shadow professionals in event management, film and stage technology or to try their hand at reporting. And a number of young people also recounted their experiences as project initiators in the Think Big zone on the SAP Arena site.
