O2 Business awards prizes to the winners of its Business Founder competition

MUNICH. The winners of the Business Founder competition sponsored by O2 Business have now been selected. Johannes Pruchnow, Managing Director at O2 Business, will congratulate the happy winners at an awards reception to be held in Munich's O2 Tower next Monday.
First prize in the amount of 7,000 Euros goes to Malte Geschwinder and Knut Büscher of gb consite GmbH. Their new service allows stationary companies, such as retailers and craftspeople, to examine in advance whether it would make sense to open a new branch. The online location check developed by the young entrepreneurs from Oberschleißheim calculates the earnings forecast from a range of geomarketing data. Second prize in the amount of 3,000 Euros goes to the Hamburg-based company Vatosline UG for its Internet service. Forwarding agents, shipping companies and logistics service providers can use the service to query container ships' freight rates. The Munich-based company of NameRobot takes home third prize, a notebook and a BlackBerry smartphone. NameRobot offers an Internet service that automatically finds nice-sounding names for companies, brands or products.
"We were very excited about the many creative business ideas that were submitted. It wasn't easy making the decision," explains Johannes Pruchnow, Managing Director Business at Telefónica O2 Germany. "The winners presented intelligent and promising business models. We wish them a lot of success when taking the next steps." During the three-month competition, business founders who launched their businesses in 2009 or 2010 were not only able to win prizes. They also received active support. Dr. Uwe Kirst, an authority on start-up businesses and the author of the standard reference Selbständig mit Erfolg (Self-Employment with Success), answered their questions and, along with business experts, selected the best business ideas.
