Telefónica Deutschland appoints Martin Škop as CTO
MUNICH. Martin Škop will take over the position of CTO at Telefónica in Germany, starting March 1st, 2013. He follows Andrea Folgueiras, who is now CTO at Telefónica in Brazil.
As managing director, Martin Škop, aged 43 years, is responsible for network technology at Telefónica in Germany. He reports to CEO René Schuster. Škop has already been working for the Telefónica group for more than six years. Lately, as CTO he was responsible for Telefónica Slovakia and Telefónica Czech Republic. Prior to this, he held several positions in the field of network technology, lately as director for network development and planning.

He brings in great knowledge in fixed network and mobile technology as well as in the development of network services," says René Schuster, CEO of Telefónica Deutschland. "He will support us to drive our ambitious goals, especially with regard to extending our mobile data network with LTE. At the same time we are very sorry that Cayetano Carbajo was not able to come to Germany for private reasons. We wish him all the best."
