Changes at the top of Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG’s supervisory board

The chairperson of the supervisory board, Eva Castillo Sanz, has informed the company´s management board and the supervisory board that she will resign from her position as chairperson of the supervisory board with immediate effect. After leaving the board of Telefónica, S.A. she has decided to pursue new career options. At the same time she announced that she will resign from her membership in the supervisory board within the statutory period with effect of 25 May 2018.t Originally her mandate would have lasted until 2022. Until a new chairperson is elected, the deputy chairperson of the supervisory board, Christoph Braun, will lead the board on an intermediate basis. The new election regarding the chair of the board should take place in the near future. The management board will file a motion to complete the supervisory board by court appointment in due course. In the past years, she has closely accompanied all major milestones in the company´s history like the IPO, the merger with E-Plus Group and the changes in the management board and set the course for the development of Telefónica Germany in many important ways. We experienced her as a competent and reliable partner for the management board, our company and its employees.Eva Castillo-Sanz has been a member of the board of directors of Telefónica, S.A. since 2008. In course of the IPO of Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG in 2012 she became chairperson of the company´s supervisory board. The 55 year old Spaniard also holds several mandates in boards within and outside the Telefónica Group. Her professional career until joining the Telefónica organisation covers amongst others Merril Lynch, Goldman Sachs and the Spanish Stock broker Beta Capital.
