Telefónica Deutschland has successfully placed its first syndicated credit facility with an amount of 750 million euros via its subsidiary Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG. The company signed the corresponding contract on 22 March 2016. The new general-purpose facility has a five-year tenor, which may be extended through to March 2023. It allows Telefónica Deutschland to further diversify its funding profile. Coordinating mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners are BNP Paribas, Commerzbank AG and UniCredit Bank AG. Together with the lead arrangers, the company invited an additional six banks to participate in the new credit facility. The offer was accepted by all banks. The syndication was significantly oversubscribed. After two successful bond issuances in 2013 and 2014 as well as the placement of a promissory note in 2015, the successful placement confirms Telefónica Deutschland's strong capital markets position.
