Mobile analytics company Opensignal awards O2 with the fastest download speeds
Mobile analytics company Opensignal awards O2's network as the fastest 5G network in Germany in terms of the download speed category 1. According to the latest industry report on the quality of 5G mobile networks in Germany, O2 customers experienced significantly faster download speeds than customers in the 5G networks of competitors, with an average of 131.4 Mbit/s. O2 has started its 5G expansion turbo this year: Currently, more than 2,300 5G antennas in over 80 cities are transmitting on the powerful 3.6 GHz frequency. These offer particularly high speeds, additional capacities and short response times for mobile data usage. O2 customers can use 5G in all O2 Free Unlimited tariffs and all volume tariffs from O2 Free M onwards at no extra charge.

O2 brings 5G to over 80 cities
O2 is bringing the high-performance 5G network to more and more cities and regions: The new mobile communications standard is already live in over 80 cities. These include major cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Hanover, Nuremberg, Leipzig and Stuttgart, as well as communities such as Kaufering in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech or Wörth am Rhein in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Germersheim. All of the current 2,300 5G antennas are transmitting at the 3.6 GHz frequency, which is particularly suitable for peak 5G performance.

O2 5G mobile phone tariffs open up access to the excellent network

This year, O2 is also on the offensive with its 5G mobile phone tariffs: with the O2 Free Unlimited Max, customers surf at up to 500 Mbit/s in the 5G network. 5G is also included at no extra charge in the other unlimited tariffs O2 Free UnIimited Smart and O2 Free Unlimited Basic. In addition, customers use the 5G standard in all volume rates from O2 Free M. With 5G, they benefit from an even better surfing experience in everyday life and can use even the most demanding digital applications, such as streaming high-resolution videos in HD or 4K.
