Thorsten Haeser appointed new Sales Director Consumer Business

MUNICH. Thorsten Haeser has been appointed the new Sales Director Consumer Business for Telefónica O2 Germany. So far, the 41-year-old has headed the successful partner business and will now additionally assume overall responsibility for the sales activities of the company's consumer business in his capacity as Vice President Sales. It includes direct and indirect sales channels as well as the online business. Haeser will continue to report to Lutz Schüler, Managing Director Marketing & Sales.
"Thorsten Haeser has very successfully established the partner business in the last couple of years. In his new position he will also be responsible for the traditional consumer sales channels and will continue to drive our strong customer growth", said Schüler. Since the beginning of the year, Telefónica O2 Germany has won more than 1.2 million new customers and is thus currently the fastest growing provider in Germany. The fully qualified lawyer has worked for Telefónica O2 Germany and the predecessing companies since 1998. After several years as Head of the Legal Department, he started to establish the Wholesale & Strategic Partnership business in 2003. Since 2005 he has been responsible for the cooperations with Tchibo, Hansenet, Kabel Deutschland, Schlecker, M-Net and the company's discount brand Fonic as Vice President Partner Management. Ulrich Puchebner, his predecessor, decided to assume new challenges outside the company after twelve successful years in the sales business. "Uli Puchebner has been a cornerstone for O2's success and growth story of the last couple of years. We like to thank him very much for it", Schüler explained.
