Peter Rampling new Managing Director of Marketing at Telefónica O2 Germany

MUNICH. Telefónica O2 Germany is bringing in Peter Rampling as its new Managing Director of Marketing. Prior to this appointment, Rampling was responsible for the Consumer Mobile division at Telefónica O2 in the UK. He will be taking up his new position on 1 May and report directly to CEO René Schuster.
Peter Rampling has more than 20 years' experience in telecommunications and marketing - in both the consumer and in the business segment. In 1986 he started at BT and did a variety of marketing roles in the consumer business. He transferred from the fixed telephony part of the business to BT Wireless/Cellnet organisation in 2000 where he played a key role in the successful launch and transition to market leader of O2 in the UK. Furthermore, in the UK he was also responsible for the divisions of Consumer Postpaid and Business Small and Medium Enterprises and was active most recently as a Member of the Management Board. Schuster welcomes Rampling's changeover: "By bringing Peter on board, we will have a top marketeer with a wealth of experience supporting us with immediate effect. He will be forging ahead with the positioning of the company as one of the three major integrated telecommunications providers in Germany."
