O2 opens Experience Stores

MUNICH. Telefónica O2 Germany is taking the next step into the future by combining telecommunications and entertainment electronics. As of 12 August, in addition to transparent and simple communications and data services, customers will also find products such as TVs, games consoles and hi-fi systems at selected O2 shops. The entertainment electronics partner of O2 is SONY Germany.
Telecommunications and entertainment electronics are becoming ever more integrated. Surfing the internet on your laptop as you travel, downloading your favourite music or taking photographs with your mobile phone and uploading the pictures straight onto the web; it's already part of everyday life. But there is already a lot more that is technically possible these days. Your television, for example, can now directly access the photographs saved on your mobile phone, or you can beam your favourite music wirelessly from your mobile to the Dolby surround sound system at home. Applications like these are usually tailored to the individual and require a great deal of expertise in all sorts of areas. The new O2 Experience Stores remain true to the brand promise "We make things simple", offering this service from a single source. In these shops customers get not only simple and transparent mobile phone and landline deals, plus lifestyle products from the entertainment sector, but also an individual and intensive advisory and service concept. The services include elements like individual advice at home and assistance with the setup and installation of your own home network. From product training through to instruction in the use of products, the shops offer everything from a single source. The selected O2 shops are in Berlin and in Munich, where they are currently being converted. The opening in the new look and feel is set for 12 August.
