Telefónica Germany founds hosting subsidiary

MUNICH. Telefónica Germany is spinning off its hosting business into a separate company and is expanding its range to include Managed Cloud Services and Application Management Solutions for complex online portals. The new subsidiary is operating under the name Telefónica Germany Online Services GmbH and brings together the existing hosting teams from the Business and Network Technology fields.
The current Vice President of Telefónica Germany's Large Enterprises division, Kai Stemick, has been named Managing Director of the new company. He will be reporting to Johannes Pruchnow, Managing Director Business at Telefónica Germany. Sales and technology at the hosting company will be headed up by Christian Krischke and Ulrich Mühlhoff. With effect from 1 July, all employees of the hosting teams have switched to the new wholly owned subsidiary of Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG which disposes of a sales network encompassing the whole of Germany and offices in Munich and Gütersloh.
"With Telefónica Germany Online Services GmbH operating as an independent company, we aim to further expand on our strong position as a business service provider for sophisticated online portals," said Johannes Pruchnow. "The new subsidiary will be operating independently, but it will benefit from the infrastructure, the strong sales presence and the established Telefónica Group brands." This is demonstrated by notable clients such as Spiegel Online, ProSiebenSat.1, VZnet, Zalando and Tomorrow Focus AG, who all have their internet platforms managed by the expert staff at Telefónica.
