The new head of finance has been working as Vice President of Controlling since 2009. "With her experience and knowledge, Rachel Empey has made a considerable contribution towards helping us achieve our financial goals over the past few years," said René Schuster, CEO of Telefónica Germany. "Over the last few months in the role of acting CIO, Eckart Pech has already provided new momentum and proven that he is optimally qualified for this position." The PhD of business administration, who essentially engineered the transformation of Telefónica Germany's IT since 2009, provisionally took over the role of Managing Director Service Technology (CIO) in May. Previously he worked as Vice President of both Planning & Transformation and Technology Development at Telefónica Germany.
