Telefónica Deutschland appoints Cayetano Carbajo as CTO

Cayetano Carbajo will take over the position of CTO at Telefónica in Germany, starting February 1st, 2013. He follows Andrea Folgueiras, who will be the new CTO at Telefónica Brazil.
As managing director, Cayetano Carbajo, aged 42 years, is responsible for network technology at Telefónica in Germany and reports to CEO René Schuster. Cayetano has been working for the Telefónica group since 1995. Lately, as director he was responsible for network technology at Telefónica SA. Prior to this, he was CTO of Telefónica Moviles in Mexico.

"He will support us to drive our ambitious goals, especially with regard to extending our mobile data network with LTE. At the same time, I would like to thank Andrea Folgueiras, under whose leadership we have expanded our mobile network to one of the most modern in Europe. I wish her all the best for her new responsibilities."
