O2 opens mobile telecommunications network for Voice-over-IP services
MUNICH. Telefónica O2 Germany clears the way for Voice-over-IP (VoIP) on the mobile phone. All O2 customers can now use mobile internet telephony services like Skype with the current internet packs from O2. Thanks to these, they always have their costs under control.
For the mobile use of internet telephony services, the mobile phone surf flat rate Internet-Pack-M from O2 can, for example, be recommended. The flat rate allows customers to surf the internet at a volume of up to 200 MB and up to HSDPA speed. Subsequently, customers can continue to surf at reduced speed. The monthly costs amount to € 10. For those, who need more volume, they can book O2's Internet Pack L with the full speed to 5GB. The monthly costs amount to 25 Euro. "We operate one of the most modern and most rapid mobile data networks in Europe and our customers are to experience it without limitations, no matter whether they surf, email, use instant messaging or make phone calls", says Lutz Schüler, Managing Director Marketing & Sales, Telefónica O2 Germany. "By opening our mobile high-speed network for VoIP services, we set new standards in the area of the mobile internet."
