In the course of this year the new corporate brand will be introduced in all the countries making up Telefónica Europe. Germany is the first country in the Group to make the changeover. "We have belonged to Telefónica for exactly 5 years and we cooperate very closely in all sorts of areas," explains René Schuster, CEO of Telefónica O2 Germany. "With our new name we are once again making it clear that we are part of one of the world's biggest telecommunications companies."
"Whether it be in research, development or even our social involvement, we see many Telefónica elements in our work every day," says Matthew Key, CEO of Telefónica Europe. "The new name is the rational step to take in order to present ourselves as a strong unit."
Nothing will change for the company's customers. O2 will still remain the powerful brand for all products and services in both the private and the business customer sectors. Only the business with major multinationals will in future be conducted under the name Telefónica.
