Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY and Xperia arc
MUNICH. Telefónica O2 Germany will start selling the long-awaited PlayStation smartphone Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY today as well as the super slim Sony Ericsson Xperia arc. Both of these smartphones, which come with Google's Android operating system, will be offered at first online and later in the shops too.
O2 will be offering the smartphones without a SIM lock together at O2 My Handy. The Xperia PLAY is available via http://www.o2myhandy.de for an initial payment of 29 euros and 24 monthly instalments of 22.50 euros. The Xperia arc is available for an initial payment of 39 euros and 24 monthly instalments of just 17.50 euros. Both devices can be used with any of the O2 mobile phone tariffs. The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY is the first smartphone with a PlayStation certification. It has a a slide-out game pad with the usual control elements of Sony's PlayStation games console as well as a 4-inch screen and integrated stereo speakers, all of which ensure intensive and captivating game play. The gaming smartphone's memory can be extended to 32 gigabytes using microSD cards. The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY comes with pre-installed, full versions of the popular games Tetris, SIMS 3, FIFA 10, Star Battalion, Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior and Crash Bandicoot, which means you can start playing right away. The ultra-slim Sony Ericsson Xperia arc stands out through its curved rear side, which gives the smartphone its name. At the narrowest point the device is a mere 8.7 millimetres, making it one of the thinnest smartphones in the world. Its unusual form not only makes it aesthetic - the ergonomic, slim form also means it fits perfectly in your palm as well as any pocket. This multimedia smartphone with a gigahertz processor has a lot more to offer, however: thanks to the high-resolution, 4.2-inch reality display with cutting edge screen technology (Sony Mobile BRAVIA® Engine), videos and photos are even sharper and more alive than ever before. Both smartphones provide access to the Android market, which now contains more than 200,000 applications, as well as to all mobile services offered by Google.
