Telefónica's startup initiative:Wayra chooses the best startups

-Wayra picks three startups from the areas smartphone apps, cloud services, social networks, search engines and lifestyle

MUNICH. Telefónica's startup program Wayra today announces the winning teams from the recent selection process. Three startups have been chosen from over 3,000 competitors in Wayra's second worldwide application round. The young entrepreneurs have submitted innovative concepts from segments like data management, social networks, and lifestyle. As of September, the second generation of Telefónica's exclusive startup program will be moving into the Wayra Academy in Munich.
The following startups succeed with convincing ideas against strong competitors: Naymit is an app which users can mark locations without a street name and number on a map with photos and descriptions. Other users can look for location based on these individual names and find it easily. With ImmoMatch landlord and tenant get a platform that works similar to a dating portal in principle. They can search different applicant profiles for a real estate and then find the ideal counterpart. Hapticom developed the first smartphone for blind and deaf people to increase their quality of life. As of September, the winning startups will move into the Wayra Academy in the center of Munich and can enjoy support from many experts and entrepreneurs who help them with their expertise to further develop their ideas. Apart from that, the startups will receive a starting capital of 40,000 Euros, valuable relations and the possibility to jointly work on their innovations in state-of-the-art offices. By the end of their time at the Wayra Academy, the young entrepreneurs can prove themselves to investors on a DemoDay and thereby care for further financial support for their projects.
