The contents of the digital screens refresh automatically via mobile phone network. They are controlled by a simple content management system that can be operated on a website from any internet access in the world. With this ad configurator every retailer can present their advertisement without previous knowledge professionally and strikingly without requiring installation. O2's Promotion Pad is either available with a screen size of 15 or 21.5 inches or as a media player to be connected to existing screens of any size. The activation of the O2 Promotion Pad follows three easy steps: Unpack, switch on, get started. The O2 Promotion Pad will be simply connected to an electrical outlet and then it continuously receives the latest contents via its provided M2M SIM card. The displayed information can be easily created by the shop owner with the ad configurator: There are more than 250 professional templates for various business areas as well as contents on a daily basis from partners like Tagesschau, TV Spielfilm, Wetter.com, Wissen.de and News.de available on www.promotionpad.de. Creating the contents and subsequently transferring them to the Promotion Pad does not require installation or extra training. "Small and independent retailers in particular are affected by the competition with big chain stores and the upswing of online traders", said Peter Rampling, Head of Telefónica Digital in Germany, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Telefónica offers the O2 Promotion Pad as bundle package with hardware and service: In addition to the screen this also includes the M2M SIM card with a monthly data volume of 1,000 Megabyte as well as the access to the online ad configurator with over 250 templates to create professional ad contents. The minimum contact period for the service amounts to 24 months. It is only available in combination with the hardware which is adjusted to the service. The O2 Promotion Pad comes in three different variations: Customers can choose between the version L with a screen size of 21 inch, and the version M with 15 inch. The smallest version S with a media player can be used for already existing screens or TVs.
