With this, Telefónica supports small- and medium-sized companies to organize the usage of their machines and construction vehicles even more efficiently. “Telefónica Fleet Monitor enables companies to optimize the utilization of their vehicles and machines in a way that significantly minimizes idle times and thus reduces costs,” states Kai Brasche, Vice President M2M at Telefónica in Germany. To achieve this, data like location, speed, and ignition impulses are transmitted from a small GSM/GPS-box to a server via the O2 mobile network. From there, they can be inquired anytime via a web portal or the smartphone in order to make quick decisions about the next deployment, or for a better utilization.
