Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG appoints new CFO and extends the management board

Today the supervisory board of Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG appointed several new members to the management board and resolved that Markus Rolle will succeed Rachel Empey as CFO. Markus Rolle is currently Director of Controlling of Telefónica Deutschland. Together with CEO Markus Haas, he will represent the Company to capital markets. Rachel Empey is leaving upon her own request as mutually agreed with the supervisory board. After more than 13 years in leadership positions in the Telefónica Group, she will pursue new professional opportunities. As part of the management board reorganisation, several internal committees are eliminated and their roles and responsibilities now united in the extended management board. The objective of the reorganisation is to simplify the company's leadership structure in order to push ahead quickly and efficiently with the digital transformation of the company. The changes to the management board will take effect from 1 August 2017.

Alongside CEO Markus Haas, the management board of Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG will now include the following newly appointed members
-Markus Rolle (39), has been Director Controlling since the merger with E-Plus. Prior to this he held senior positions in finance at the E-Plus Group and at the KPN Group. Markus has been with the company for more than 18 years.
-Wolfgang Metze (44), who joined Telefónica Deutschland in early 2017, will serve as management board member responsible for the company's consumer business with a clear focus on customer experience. Before joining Telefónica Deutschland, he held several leadership positions within Deutsche Telekom.
-Alfons Lösing (53) will be responsible for wholesale partners, business customers and Telefónica Next on the board. He joined the E-Plus Group in its founding year 1993 and assumed responsibility for the partner business in 2002.
-Cayetano Carbajo Martín (47) will be responsible for network on the board. A telecommunications engineer by profession, Cayetano joined Telefónica Group in 1995 and has held various executive positions in the Group.
-Guido Eidmann (49) will serve as the Chief Information Officer with responsibility for the service technology unit and will ensure the digitalisation of the company. He joined E-Plus Group in 2013 and after the merger managed the integration and transformation of all IT departments.
-Valentina Daiber (49) will have responsibility for legal and corporate affairs on the board. Valentina has been with the company since 1999 in various management positions in Corporate Affairs.
-Nicole Gerhardt (46) has been appointed as the board member responsible for human resources. She joins Telefónica Deutschland from ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, where she most recently also led the human resources department. Previously, Nicole worked in HR roles with E-Plus and Telefónica Deutschland as well as for 12 years with Vodafone. She succeeds the former Managing Director HR Thomas Gottschlich who is leaving the company for personal reasons.
The Directors for Strategy, Transformation and Communication will report directly to CEO Markus Haas.
