ICQ available directly on the mobile phone with O2 now

MUNICH. From 25 May 2009, Telefónica O2 Germany simplifies instant messaging on the mobile phone. The new offer is launched in cooperation with ICQ, a leading provider of instant messaging services. O2 customers will in future be able to directly use ICQ on their mobile phone and stay in contact with their friends, arrange a date or exchange news. In combination with the Internet-Pack-S, customers use a data volume of 30 MB to chat almost infinitely for 5 EUR a month.
Gone are the days when customers first had to access the internet on their mobile phone and surf to the homepage of ICQ to be able to use the instant messaging service. Thanks to the ICQ, Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) client they now get easy and rapid access to the ICQ portal. At just one click, they can chat with all of their friends straight away. O2 customers can check whether their mobile phone supports the service already and directly download it to their device for free on www.o2online.de. The client is pre-installed on selected devices like the LG KS360 or Sony Ericsson W595. Internet-Pack-S: Chatting for € 5 a month It is recommended to use the Internet-Pack-S in combination with the ICQ offer. Thanks to the data volume of 30 MB which is included for just € 5 customers chat with their friends, no matter when and where they are. For those who want to regularly surf the web on their mobile phone, the mobile surf flat rate Internet-Pack-M is the right choice. Costs per month are € 10. The data volume is unlimited and the speed is reduced to GPRS from 200 MB.
