O2 o: Status text message provides cost control

-Automatic message reporting telephone costs via text message
-Message when costs have reached 30 euros and when the O2 cost airbag is activated
MUNICH. Starting August 13, 2009, Telefónica O2 Germany will automatically send a free status text message to advise their O2 o contract customers how much they are spending on standard domestic calls and text messages. The customer will receive the first text message when the 30-euro mark has been reached in a billing month and the second when the O2 costs airbag has been activated at the 60-euro limit.
This special offer of active cost information underscores the O2 o principle of transparency and customer orientation. After all, it provides customers with optimum orientation, which in turn enables them to keep their telephone costs under control. O2 o customers can rest assured that they will know exactly when they can start profiting from the O2 cost airbag. Once the 60-euro mark has been reached for standard domestic calls and text messages, the use of these services will run up no further costs right up until the end of the current billing month. From that point in time onwards, O2 o becomes a flat rate into all networks in Germany for the rest of the month. O2 has replaced and radically simplified its previous pricing structure with the O2 o rate introduced at the beginning of May. With O2 o, there is no minimum contract period, no basic monthly charge and no minimum sales volume. Every standard call minute and text message costs just 15 cents each to all German landline and cell phone networks. Combined with the automatic monthly O2 cost airbag for these domestic calls and text messages at 60 euros, the new service makes sure that telephone bills never exceed this maximum. O2 o was presented with the Innovation Award for mobile communications pricing rates for transparency, simplicity and customer orientation by "connect", a German trade magazine, in May 2009.
