The broadband access service SHDSL.bis offers symmetric bandwidth and enables identical upload and download speeds. Partners obtain access to the data network of Telefónica across Germany. The customers of wholesale providers will get access to the worldwide network of Telefónica S.A via the network. "Based on the new bandwidths reached via SHDSL.bis we offer our wholesale partners another attractive product", says Johannes Pruchnow, Managing Director Business & Wholesale Services, Telefónica O
2 Germany. "The flexible solution adequately meets increased data transmission requirements in the business segment. Our partners are thus in a position to offer attractive products. Next year, we will be able to offer speeds of up to 22.8 Mbit/s."
The speeds are achieved through line bonding via up to four copper lines. From 2010, the following bandwidths will be available:
SHDSL.bis (single line) with up to 5.7 Mbit/s,
SHDSL.bis bonding (4-line) with up to 11.4 Mbit/s and
SHDSL.bis bonding (8-line) with up to 22.8 Mbit/s
in upload and download direction, respectively.
Telefónica O
