The Huawei E5 can also transform devices without integrated UMTS modems into mobile companions. The mini router is roughly the size of a small mobile phone and can be recharged via a USB port or charger. All the user has to do is insert a SIM card with a data tariff in order to connect up to five devices to the Internet without the need for any cables. And it does not matter what kind of device is connected: from laptops to tablet PCs and smartphones - anything is possible. Multiple persons with different devices can therefore access the WLAN at home or on the go. No matter whether the device is being used as a router in a holiday apartment or as a mobile office for a small team: the procedure for establishing an Internet connection is just as easy as it is with a normal computer and WLAN.
The E5 can also be turned into a media server thanks to the integrated MicroSD card slot. And the integrated dot matrix display allows you to view all important information, such as the current mobile network, battery status or the number of devices connected.
The Huawei E5 will be available via O2 My Handy. The overall price is 129 euros, which can either be paid as single payment or be split up into an initial payment of 9 euros and 24 monthly payments of 5 euros.
