mpass enables purchases on the Internet to be paid for easily and securely. The advantage of paying with mpass is that sensitive customer data such as bank details must not be entered during the purchasing process and these data are not transmitted to retailers. The authorisation of the payment order is only possible via the buyer's mobile phone.
mpass was initiated in 2009 by Vodafone and O2
and has been developed on an ongoing basis ever since. The latest optimisation, which is already being implemented together with Telekom, allows the model to be opened up for further payment integrators.
As a result of Telekom's involvement, mpass has also expanded its participant base of already pre-registered post-paid customers to over 20 million. Pre-paid customers and customers of other mobile network providers with a bank account in Germany can also use mpass by signing up at www.mpass.de

Today it is already possible to use mpass in numerous online and mobile shops. Thanks to the partnership with large payment integrators, the number of acceptance points will multiply over the next few years. In addition to use in e-commerce and m-commerce, mpass will also offer mobile payment options in stationary trade.
