MUNICH. Telefónica Germany makes Fujitsu-notebooks fit for the mobile Internet. As of now, almost every LIFEBOOK-edition or tablet PC from Fujitsu in Germany contains a pre-installed Telefónica SIM card. After switching the PC on and going through the short registration, customers can start surfing immediately. Especially attractive: The first month within the mobile Internet is for free.
As one of the first manufacturers of portable PCs, Fujitsu equips almost its entire product portfolio with SIM cards from Telefónica Germany. Mobile Internet access is possible with every device bringing an integrated 3G module.
"In addition to the smartphone market, the connection of tablets and notebooks to the mobile internet offers us an interesting growth opportunity", says Michiel van Eldik, Managing Director Wholesale & Partnermanagement, Telefónica Germany. "With Fujitsu Technology Solutions, we were able to convince an established partner within the business and private client sector of our data tariffs, the quality of our network and our services." As of now, customers have the choice between three special prepaid tariffs, available via selected specialist shops. The 'Tagesflatrate' for 2.95 euro is made for occasionally accessing e-mail and websites. Full speed is available up to a data volume of 1 GB, afterwards surfing can continue with 64 KB/s. The 'Monatsflatrate 500' for 9.95 euro is best for occasional surfers; the restriction becomes effective at 500 MB. The 'Monatsflatrate 5000' for 24.95 euro is tailored to the needs of frequent surfers, including unrestricted web access up to 5 GB. Apart from the fixed daily and monthly fees, there are no additional costs. Contract durations do not exist either. During the first month, clients go online for free.
The entry into the World Wide Web is as simple as can be: After switching the PC on and registering, the client chooses the preferred tariff via the special 'My Mobile' platform at http://www.my-mobile-internet.de/fujitsu. A registration via telephone is also possible. With the new offering, Telefónica continues the successful cooperation with Fujitsu. Telefónica provides voice and data services as Fujitsu's mobile phone partner within 15 European countries since March 2011.
