O2 on holiday - unlimited surfing with the new "Smartphone Day Pack EU"
Just EUR 1.99 Euro a day
Data volume rises to 25 Megabyte
Protective function and easy to order
O2 customers no longer have to do without surfing on their smartphones when they're holidaying abroad. For a daily charge of just EUR 1.99, the new "Smartphone Day Pack EU" gives mobile surfers in the EU (including Iceland, Croatia, Norway and Switzerland) a data volume of 25 Megabyte. The data pack is easy to order from a mobile or stationary Internet connection, the customer hotline or in the O2 shop.
"We already offer our customers very attractive roaming deals," says Markus Haas, Managing Director Corporate Affairs & Strategy at Telefónica Germany. "In the digital society no one should have to do without their smartphone on holiday. Various travel tariffs give our customers the option of enjoying their holiday without a nasty surprise when they get their next bill." Once the 25 Megabyte limit is reached, the speed is reduced and the customer notified by text message. The message contains a link that they can follow to order a new data pack to continue their surfing pleasure at full speed. What's also convenient is that subscribers don't have to activate the data pack every day, as the service is automatically available from the start of the new day. The "Smartphone Day Pack EU" comes with a protective function: if customers without a great deal of Internet experience accidentally activate their accounts abroad in the EU, a volume of 50 Kilobyte a day carries no charge. The daily rate is only charged beyond that.
