O2 lowers EU international roaming rates

MUNICH/Germany. Just in time for the travel season, O2 postpaid customers can make phone calls, send text messages and surf the internet while in other European countries at even cheaper rates this summer - from 1 July 2012, Telefónica Germany will cut the prices of its travel option significantly. Also in other O2 international tariffs both postpaid and prepaid customers will benefit from reduced roaming rates.
With the travel option, postpaid customers pay only 19 cents instead of 30 cents per minute from 1 July for outgoing calls originating in other European countries. Incoming calls and texts will also be significantly cheaper. Using the mobile Internet while abroad will cost just 83 cents per Megabyte in future instead of the current €1.54 per MB rate.
The rate changes at a glance
Rates for the regulated Eurotariffs World Zones for Telephony/SMS and Mobile Internet Abroad for Data plans will likewise be reduced on 1 July. Outgoing calls cost only 34 cents per minute instead of 41 cents. The new rate applies both to postpaid and prepaid customers. Existing customers will benefit automatically from the new rates. It is also possible to switch tariffs at any time free of charge. More information will soon be available at http://www.o2.de/goto/ausland.
