O2 opens first shop on Facebook

-Employees advise and sell in real time
-Opening hours are from 8 am to 10 pm
MUNICH. On November 25, Telefónica Germany with its brand O2 will open the first shop in the biggest German city: on Facebook. Here, customers get the chance to discover a completely new shopping experience: O2 employees offer advice and sell products and services via the world's biggest social network.
Until now, O2 has mainly used Facebook as a platform to communicate information to customers and fans: In this channel, promotions, special offers and campaigns have been announced and customer requests as well as service questions have been answered directly. From now on, however, the company is breaking new grounds with its Facebook activities: On November 25, O2 opens Germany's first shop on Facebook - on the page of the social network itself and in the company's headquarter in Munich. Personal Consulting The shop is open from Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 10 pm. During these opening hours, it is a place for personal consulting and sales conversations - similar to a real shop. Due to this, Facebook users can see the names as well as the pictures of the O2 employees, who are in the shop at that very moment, and get into contact with them. Video-interactions via webcam are planned in the mid-term.
First shop presence in the social web Behind the internet shop in the social web there is actually a physical shop, located on the 22nd floor of the O2 Tower in Munich. But this does not necessarily remain the only one: "It's an essential part of the 'Pop-up'-concept to make this shop appear for several weeks also in other cities in the future", says Roland Kuntze, responsible for Social Media at Telefónica Germany. Changing sales highlights - starting with LTE In general, the entire O2 product and service range is accessible for Facebook users: All products that can be purchased via the regular sales channels can also be bought in the shop on Facebook. However, the main focus is on highlighting certain topics. Starting from November 25, it'll first be all about the LTE-topic and about showing the customers how fast the mobile broadband really is. In addition, matching products will be offered: Customers can choose between a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini or the HTC One mini - each in combination with an All-in-M tariff for 29.99 euros a month in the first year and 39.98 euros in the second. Portal with access to all sales and service channels Those who want to take a look at the other sales and service channels from O2 can do so in a simple and quick way: The online site www.o2.de as well as the telesales number and the O2 chat are available with only one click - according to the idea of an integrated multichannel approach. And via the O2 shopfinder, customers can easily find the O2 shop closest to them.
