10 selected projects are given funding of 1,000 euros
Start of the next stage of the Peer Scout programme to provide training for young people as coaches for other Think Big participants
Young people from all over Germany shared experiences and inspired each other
Ten projects now receive a special support to let their ideas become reality: Instead of the usual 400 euros project funding they each receive 1,000 euros along with experienced young people to help them on their way. One of the projects is www.student-rooms.de that brings students into contact with private individuals who are able to offer the students low-cost accommodation in return for their help around the house. The "Connecting People" project is another example, which supports refugees in bureaucratic issues and in learning German. The Peer Scout programme is also entering the next round, helping to train 15 young people in project management, consulting and presenting so that they can coach other young people and represent the Think Big programme as ambassadors. The first workshops already took place at the Think Big project fair at the JugendKulturZentrum "Alte Pumpe". 120 young people came together to present their projects, learn from other participants and inspire each other. Telefónica Germany employees, too, were on site and offered their know-how in the fields of marketing and digital media.
"We believe in the potential and the ideas of young people", says Roland Kuntze, Vice President Corporate Communications at Telefónica Germany. "For this reason we support young people with Think Big to commit themselves and realise their own projects with the help of digital media." Under the motto "Think big, act now" young people between the age of 14 and 25 can apply with their ideas at www.o2thinkbig.de. They will receive a financial support of 400 euros as well as professional advice from local partners.
