JYSK Deutschland has selected Telefónica Deutschland as its partner for the digitalization of its stores. The collaboration begins with the migration of around 3.000 mobile connections across more than 900 stores to Telefónica Deutschland. In addition, JYSK plans to involve Telefónica Deutschland as a broader digitalization partner in the future and is already exploring further joint initiatives to advance digital processes in day-to-day store operations.

Retail Digitalization requires reliable infrastructure

Accessing product information, checking availability, and placing orders – many retail processes today are carried out directly on mobile devices. To enable this, employees need continuous access to information without interrupting customer interactions. JYSK therefore chose Telefónica Deutschland, which was able to provide the required connectivity and ensure a smooth migration while business operations continued uninterrupted. “Digital technologies deliver the greatest value when they function reliably in everyday operations. Telefónica Deutschland provides the technological foundation that enables companies to use digital solutions simply and securely. Together with JYSK, we are creating the basis for digital processes in retail stores and expanding our collaboration beyond mobile connectivity,” says Andreas Schönfeld, Director Enterprise at Telefónica Deutschland.

Successful migration during ongoing operations

As part of the collaboration, approximately 3.000 mobile connections were migrated to Telefónica Deutschland in a phased approach. The transition was completed without impacting ongoing store operations and in close coordination between the project teams of both companies. “Mobile connectivity is a critical foundation for our daily store operations. Our employees need to be able to assist customers without interrupting the interaction. From the very beginning, our collaboration with Telefónica Deutschland has been reliable and based on a true partnership. At the same time, we see significant potential to expand this partnership into additional areas of digitalization in the future,” says Tobias Linge, Head of Retail South at JYSK Deutschland.

Foundation for further digitalization initiatives

The partnership between JYSK and Telefónica begins with mobile communications for store operations. At the same time, it creates the foundation for additional joint digitalization projects. Telefónica Deutschland is the digitalization partner that provides the technological foundation companies need to use digital technologies simply, securely, and reliably.
