APIs give partners access to customer-relevant information and thus helps them secure their customer processes. For partner companies in Germany and Europe, Smart Digits' APIs offer digital solutions for simple and secure verification of customer-relevant data. The APIs can be used for fraud prevention and simplified customer onboarding. Deutsche Telekom, O₂ Telefónica and Vodafone Germany have been working together since 2020 to provide partner companies with standardized formats for the data.

The mobile network operators are also active in the GSMA for this purpose, to create a uniform platform for smart digits with other European providers. Several partners are already using Smart Digits services to make data available to established financial service providers and online stores, among others. O₂ Telefónica pays strict attention to data protection guidelines. The APIs are of course DSGVO-compliant and data transfer, where legally required, is only made with the customer's consent.

SIM Swap - checks the last swap of the SIM card to an associated phone number, e.g., to prevent fraud through social engineering. The API returns a time code. MSISDN Match - compares the phone number provided by a customer with the number of the device used. The API returns Match/No Match. KYC Match - compares the customer data provided by a customer, such as name and address, with the customer data associated with the phone number. The API returns a Matching Score.
