With Operator Billing, Premium SMS and Premium Voice we offer a simple and secure way to pay for digital goods such as ring tones, games, and value-added services using the mobile phone bill for all O2 customers. Telefónica Operator Billing is already available to customers in all major app stores, including Google Play Store and Apple App and iTunes Stores, which allows them to quickly and conveniently pay for their purchases by mobile phone.
Our bulk SMS interface allows our partners to send mass text messages to our customers. Partners can customize the sender as they choose. The bulk SMS interface is used primarily to send messages regarding customer and/or transaction authorisation. The best-known application is the “mobile TANs” used in the banking sector. The advertising industry also uses the interface for campaigns.
|Mobile phone insurance|
Our mobile phone insurance product allows customers to insure their smartphones against theft and damage. Because the smartphone has become an essential tool for so many people's digital lives, this service is perfect for our customers. To get them back online as soon as possible, we also offer a mobile phone insurance plan with a 24h replacement service that delivers a new smartphone right to the customer's door.
Digital life is about to get quicker and easier for mobile customers in Germany. Deutsche Telekom, Telefónica Deutschland and Vodafone Deutschland agreed in February 2018 to offer their customers a uniform solution for simple and protected login for internet services – with no username or password. To this end, the mobile network operators will introduce the internationally established GSMA service Mobile Connect later this year. In addition, the identity and data platform Verimi will also become the first major partner in Germany to offer the Mobile Connect method. This will enable customers to use their personal mobile number as a unique digital identifier when making purchases in online shops, when logging into internet portals and, in future, in digital dealings with government agencies.
