More LTE, higher speeds and more stable connections: O2 customers benefit from LTE network expansion
Telefónica Deutschland is implementing the largest LTE expansion program in the company's history. The company consistently pushed ahead with the expansion of the O2 LTE network in October and put more than 550 new LTE transmitters into operation. This has improved broadband coverage and LTE capacities in all 16 federal states.

Price-performance winner at Smartphone Magazine network test: O2 network awarded with "good" rating
In the current network test of Smartphone Magazine, the O2 network was awarded with a "good" rating. With 310 points, O2 is at eye level with the runner-up in the overall ranking (312 points). Among other things, the O2 network scored with the best network coverage in Germany (99.96 percent) and strong results in YouTube streaming or ping times.

The Munich-based company is working closely with Tele Columbus to achieve this: As part of a cooperation agreement, Telefónica Deutschland will receive long-term access to the provider's cable and fiber networks.

Additional national LTE expansion: Network operators agree on national mobile network pact
With today's signing of the national mobile network pact, another important step has been taken jointly by politicians and network operators to advance Germany's digital transformation. In the summer of 2018, the federal government, local authorities and network operators signed a declaration of intent on how the LTE expansion in Germany can be driven forward. Telefónica Deutschland is firmly convinced that the digitization of Europe's largest economy can only succeed with the close cooperation of all parties involved.

Telefónica Deutschland continues LTE expansion offensive in July: O2 network with new LTE stations from the Baltic Sea to the Black Forest
Telefónica Deutschland continued to massively expand its LTE network in the summer month of July, connecting many holiday resorts to the fast Internet. From the Baltic Sea to the Black Forest, the company put more than 600 new LTE transmitters into operation last month. The extensive measures directly benefit O2 customers in their digital everyday lives: The quality of the O2 network has been further improved by the expansion measures in numerous German cities and communities as well as along important traffic routes. Every hour, the network receives new LTE transmitters for better LTE coverage, higher average data rates and more LTE capacities. In total, the company will install around 10,000 new LTE transmitters in its network this year.

Positive half-year results for Telefónica Deutschland's LTE expansion: O2 network with improved LTE coverage in thousands of municipalities
More LTE, higher speeds and again an even better nationwide network coverage - Telefónica Deutschland draws a very positive half-year result for its LTE expansion in the o2 network. In the course of this year alone, the company has put 4,400 new LTE transmitters into operation throughout Germany.

Preliminary figures for the first half year 2019: Telefónica Deutschland grows and invests heavily in network expansion and new products
Telefónica Deutschland continues to grow. Revenues from January to June rose by 1.1 percent compared to the previous year. This was driven by sustained high demand for mobile handsets and a strong development in mobile service revenue in the second quarter. In the first half of the year, the company was able to gain a net 607,000 mobile subscriptions and expanded its DSL customer base. Telefónica Deutschland continues to invest in growth and recently launched innovative products such as O2 TV.

Mallik Rao becomes new CTO on the Board of Telefónica Deutschland
Mallik Rao (Yelamate Mallikarjuna Rao) will be the future new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Telefónica Germany. As a member of the Management Board, he will then be responsible for the company's mobile and fixed-network operations. Mallik Rao is to follow Cayetano Carbajo Martin from mid-October, who will take on a new role at the Spanish parent company following the successful completion of key milestones in the further development and improvement of Telefónica Deutschland's network infrastructure.

Digital manifesto presented in Berlin: Telefónica Deutschland calls for New Digital Deal
Telefónica makes a global commitment to a “new digital deal” with the goal of delivering responsible digitalisation that benefits everybody. With ethical principles to govern the application of artificial intelligence as well as nationwide support programs such as “Digital Mobility for Seniors”, Telefónica Deutschland is promoting practical steps. Preliminary figures for the first quarter 2019: Telefónica Deutschland increases revenue as well as number of contract customers and invests in future growth
Telefónica Deutschland has started 2019 with a strong momentum and at the same time has laid the foundations for the mobile network of the future. Due to the dynamic partner business and the strong demand for O2 Free tariffs and mobile devices, revenues adjusted for regulatory effects rose by 1.3 percent to EUR 1.79 billion in the first quarter.

High-speed internet via cable: Telefónica Deutschland and Vodafone cooperate in fast cable connections
The telecommunications providers Telefónica Deutschland and Vodafone have agreed that Telefónica Deutschland will have access to Vodafone's and Unitymedia’s cable network in Germany. With the access to the cable network, Telefónica Deutschland is significantly expanding and improving its nationwide fixed-network offering with high-speed internet, including its capability to provide high quality over-the-top internet-based TV services.
